School Colloquium——Symplectic topology of elliptic surfaces

报告摘要：A complex surface is an elliptic surface if it admits a holomorphic map to a complex curve such that the generic fibers are smooth elliptic curves. Elliptic surfaces play a prominent role in the classification of algebraic surfaces. On the other hand the smooth analogues of elliptic surfaces have also been extensively studied as important examples of smooth 4-manifolds. We will first review some basic features of elliptic surfaces in complex geometry and smooth 4-manifold topology, and then discuss their symplectic topology.

本科毕业，布兰迪斯大学博士毕业，曾任耶鲁大学和高等研究院博士后， 普林斯顿大学助理教授。主要研究领域为四维流形拓扑和双有理辛几何，在四维辛流形的分类上有开创性贡献。
